my first post! prepare for lots of random ramblings about stuff like the fact that it's 9am and i just arrived at the studio after dropping my car off at the mechanic (the check engine light went on and the temp gauge is not working). the coffee is brewing and we are just about set for another full day in the studio working on that al-bom that jondi told you about.
this after another amazing night at qoöl (for you non-san franciscans, that's my weekly dj residency - you can read more about that at looq.com). crowd-wise it's always fantastic thanks to a large group of what i think must be the most spirited clubbers on the planet. from my perspective, last night was particularly hectic because i was playing a lot of new tracks on the fly, some of which i had never heard before. i was a little nervous about that, but i had little choice since the al-bom is taking up a lot of the time i usually spend digesting new music. to give you an example, as of yesterday i had about 70 new tracks that i had not had time to listen to yet - so i just brought them to qoöl! by saturday i will have had time to give most of these a listen. so watch out for some new sounds from me!
