we're taking a little break from the album at the moment. just a long weekend really, but it's nice all the same. so far, we've sketched out about 30 tracks then developed 9 of those into what we call first drafts. i think we would like to take the time at this stage to stop and do some more sketches, but the stuff that's semi finished seems to be demanding our attention at the moment. either way, the al-bom is starting to take shape and we are sööper stoked.
so, back to the break.
for me, that means moving part of my record collection (about fifteen boxes covering 1989 - 1993) to storage on the hottest day of the year, playing friday night in sf and saturday night in la, answering email, and doing a mile high pile of laundry. relaxing! actually there have been nice moments, like sitting by the water at sunset with astrid eating shellfish and drinking wine. if i can sneak a bbq in somewhere it will be mission accomplished!
well, i'm off to check the mailbox for new tunes that i can unleash this weekend! see you on the dancefloor (or at the bbq!).
