Al-bom Countdown
Yesterday for the first time we actually burned all the tracks to date (15) onto a CD and listened to it. Amazingly it all held together, more or less. None of the vocal tracks are finalized (our search for the perfect male vocalist continues ... my one attempt at recording my own voice quickly ended with the immediate deleting of all the audio evidence - scary!) but instrumentally the thing is basically done. Hopefully our several dozen fans will not disown us at this point, it's a little different from what we've done in the past but it seems to still sound "Jondi & Spesh" (whatever that means!).
Other thoughts for the week:
- This is the week superstar DJ's will actually return your emails and be nice to you, because they want your vote in the big DJ Mag "Best DJ" contest. Wow even the big stars are really humiliating themselves with groveling vote-begging emails. So far Spesh has not succumbed, bravo!
- Ordered the complete "How to Breakdance" video series from Howtobreakdance.com (I sat next to the guy who made the website at a seminar in Miami). Ostensibly it's for the visuals this Saturday at Qoöl Saturdays, but secretly I want to learn the "jackhammer" and "hollow-back omelet" and other moves promised on said site ... of course my common sense will probably prevail and I will stay out of the body cast but at least I will be able to identify the moves ...
- It's killing me to not disclose our secret plug-in, but I've promised Spesh to keep the cat in the bag (so to speak, hint hint)
Hope to see the four or five of you who are reading this post at DNA this weekend!
