1984

I've been reading 1984 this week - there are some eerie parallels in terms of the Bush administration's recent attempts to rewrite history re: Iraqi weapons of mass destruction and so forth. It makes me appreciate both the relatively free press (no I'm not a Chomskyite at heart - I do believe that the press is free, after all we even publish a small newspaper here at Loöq [look out for Qoöl Quarterly #3 coming soon]) and the tradition of dystopian literature.

Lots of fun running the label this week - we've secured agreements for two remixes for upcoming releases which we're very excited about; Gainer/Darko et al for RND() - "Nova Satori," and Chris Dee and/or Ben Shaw for Nicholas Bennison's "Caverns." Both are incredibly strong originals and lots of faith in the remix production talent, that will be some hot wax no doubt. Gotta get those parts out today ...

Re: Seb Fontaine - still trying to get him booked at Qoöl. Could happen. Still finishing up negotiations for "Al-bom" but we should have an announcement soon.
