I have become one of those people who responds to email late. Like really late. I have a few emails flagged in my inbox that I've been meaning to respond to for four months or more. I know this because I archive my email inbox every quarter and then discover all the ones I intended to answer and never did. Usually the ones that require work or thought to respond to.

The easy ones I'm good at. The other ones ... I'm not sure how to deal. Either be more disciplined, or accept that some stuff I'm never going to get to and hope the other person follows up if it's important.

I read an article about this really successful business guy who had an email address, but never answered any email, ever. Kind of appealing, but ... I *like* email ... esp. if there are only one or two pieces of info to exchange. But it's a bad medium for any sort of complexity ... too much back and forth. A phone call would be quicker (of course then you actually have to talk to someone which in my case often requires some gearing up because I'm essentially an introvert, at least I perceive myself that way although it may not actually be true).

I think I'll try to use the phone more though ...
