DJing Is Dirty
DJing is dirty. I don't mean like "the music industry is a dirty business." I mean you physically get dirty while DJing. I left the house yesterday in clean clothes, clean hair, smelling fresh, and I got home at 2:30am smelling like sweat, whiskey, cigarette smoke, my hair matted to my head from headphones, unidentified stains on my clothes, and probably carrying more germs on my hands than Typhoid Mary.
It's not like I don't try to stay clean ... I washed my hands after taking a piss at Anu for example. However drying them proved to be more difficult. They have some hi-tech "no-touch" towel dispensing machine that operates according to an electronic sensor. However either it was out of towels or I was waving my hands over the wrong spot. In fact I was waving my hands over this machine for a full minute before I noticed the other guys in the bathroom were looking at me funny. It must have looked like I was trying to operate the machine telekinetically or something like that, as in - "Damn, that DJ did too many drugs and now he's performing divination via the towel machine." Finally I ineffectively dried my hands on my socks and went back to tag-teaming with Scott.
