How Much to Bite?

WMC is really coming together, just added another gig with David and Amy from Headrush which I will add to the dates page later today. Qoölios and other friends, please make sure to hit us up for guest list spots if you are going to be in Miami (esp. for Onda Lounge with Spundae Tuesday night, as Qoöl is co-hosting that party).

Went out last night, to Qoöl Saturdays of course and then for a bit to the Opel Anniversary party. Spesh and I opened at Qoöl Saturdays, something we don't often do but we decided it would work well with the "everybody else is breaks" lineup and it turned out to be really fun (though the pumping progressive followed by dirty breaks sets in the same room may not be the best programming choice ... still have to think about that). People seem to enjoy having different music in each room, so I think we're going to stick with that for Qoöl Saturdays. Ambient Mafia did a great job in the big-bar room. Great sets turned in by DonnaMatrix, A:Dubl, and Ooah last night too, I esp. liked Miranda's. Ooah definitely has mad skills, but did not impress me by playing at two other gigs when he agreed to play exclusively for us this weekend. Looking forward to the Spesh-a-thon in April ... pumping progressive all night long!

Afterwards I popped by Opel ... great party. Props to Adam, I have to say he's one of the hardest working promoters I know and can really pull off big events with style. I heard a few complaints from people about having to stop in the middle for the ceremony (which I missed - I was at Qoöl), but I'm all for that type of thing. Yes, it's cheesy, but it really works to get a good vibe going and get people to just open up and feel connected to each other. Props to Jim Cyr and Matt Stone for turning everyone on to that at Sweet! ... it's good Opel is carrying that torch. Jerry Bonham was throwing down some absolutely incredible music ... I got all blissed out dancing to it. Got a preview of a great Dirtyhertz remix - Reza is just on fuego in the studio lately. Apparently Mark Musselman (who was also there last night ... partying like a rockstar and blowing off some day-job stress) and Dirtyhertz are almost done with another remix - a four/four mix of "One" by Momu and Grayarea which is forthcoming on M-Theory. Can't wait to hear that one too.

On a personal note, I've been realizing lately that I sometimes bite off more than I can chew (or at least chew well). I'm involved in lots of projects (Jondi & Spesh, Momu, Qoöl, Loöq Records ... and that's just the music stuff). I'm absolutely committed to all of them, but I have to be careful about how much new stuff I take on. It's not just work/creativity ... I have the same issue in other areas in my life too. For example starting six books at the same time. Part of that is just my mercurial nature I suppose, but I've been feeling a need to be more focussed lately.
