it is possible that some tech-y, electro, glich music may suck
the last of the lobster bread pudding was eaten today, so it's time for another post. the subject of today's jondi & spesh post is just as it says above. it is possible that some tech-y, electro, glich music may suck. of course this is only the prevailing opinion here at jondi & spesh headquarters. and, all of us here really know what we are talking about.
there is, of course, good electro-y stuff out there. good glitch. good minimal stuff too. even a kind of floor filling monstrously big sounding minimal stuff which i especially like. but besides all that, and besides what i like and don't like, there is the *reason* that all this glitch-o-tainment us surfacing. its reason to be is (and i like this reason very much) that it is the dead opposite of the bloated and overproduced forms of trance, progressive, tribal and whatever else has caused you the dance music fan, knowingly or unknowingly, to be bored on one recent occasion or another.
and the reason i like the reason so much? it's just so punk. don't like the musical status quo? fine. smash it to bits, and start making music that is anything but the stuff you hate. make proclamations about how all the big djs are crap, and start spinning yourself. this is the best sort of bad attitude to have because it usually results in a new vein of music that keeps those of us who are on the lookout for new stuff supplied with what we need. the only drawback, of course, is that very thing i mentioned in the title of this particular blog-ola.
p.s. my hat is off to anyone who doesn't have a clue as to what i'm talking about
