spend the day with spesh

the truth is i don't feel like writing stuff all the time. and sometimes i feel like writing stuff, but i'm not really into publishing it. when this happens, it's not because i don't want to reveal stuff. i mean, besides email, the only writing i do is for this site and a couple of other related sites (qoölsf.com, loöq.com, djspesh.com), which means it's all for you. so my problem really lies in my occasional assumption that these musings are probably boring. and when i'm feeling that way, zee blog, she waits.
but screw all that. tyler reed called today and said he doesn't care how boring these posts are, and he wants another, like right now. so this one's for you tyler.
today i got up at 8am, made coffee (1 cup, black) and fixed up a nice bowl of whole bran cereal. 30 minutes later i was saddled up in the trooper and headed for (yikes) the gym. abs, chest, legs, triceps, stretch (no actually i always skip stretching) and 30 minutes of "cardio". shower, put street clothes on, drive to the secret jondi & spesh recording studio in oakland and hammer out what's left to do on our 1st draft of a remix of "i am the cookie" by the panty hoes (by the way, it sounds good and we're stoked to test it at qoöl tomorrow). at the studio i find a spool full of the latest tracks that my genius music assistant has acquired, and burned to discs for me. a few phone calls pour in as well. one was about the sound system tuning that just happened at 111 minna where we do qoöl. on that call i learned that the mixer there has an "open gain structure" which means you can turn it up way past the point of sounding good, and that we probably need to invest in some sort of restraint device that basically works on djs the same way a "bark collar" works on a dog (well sort of. what it does do is turn the sound way down when the dj tries to turn it way up. clever, eh?). this devise is supposed to cost $1,200 u.s..
1pm rolls around and i take off to join a conference call with a music rights clearance company about licensing the track "new sensation" by inxs for a box wine tv commercial i am producing. on the way, i stop by the butcher for some dry aged prime beef that i will be grilling for my land lord and a friend tonight. i'll also be listening to those new tunes because i'm throwing down at qoöl tomorrow. always a gas. i highly recommend it.
over and out.
