Back on the Dance Pad

Last week I totally crippled myself playing Dance Dance Revolution Universe on the 360. I could barely walk the next day. Probably stupid to give up coffee and play too much DDR in the same week ... as I found out later adenosine is one of the main pain transmitters and that's the chemical that coffee blocks, so it was bad timing. Anyway, I'm recovered, getting my DDR legs back, and drinking green tea. Healthy!

Just added a Beatport player to our Download page. It's a cool little piece of software ... ended up rediscovering some tracks I had forgotten we'd written.

I've been busy in the studio, both working on the new Momu album, and being a studio slut in general. Worked with Kevin Knapp on a track called "Broken Line" that got licensed to CSI a few weeks ago (we're still shopping it for a label release), and Brian Cox and I just finished up an EP that will be released on Loöq next month (Continental Mistress). It's gigantic tech house as far as I can tell, with maybe a little Italo vibe on the title track. Brian brought over a Juno and a bass guitar, and you can hear them both loud and clear. I think you can also hear the wine we drank and what Brian was smoking on the smoke breaks he kept taking. Tomorrow I work with Mr. Scott Carrelli ... should be interesting to see what we come up with.

Spesh and I will be getting back in the studio soon, as soon as Spesh finishes the ass-load of freelance work he signed up for. What, you thought us dance music guys just sat around all day eating pate and drinking champagne? Well sometimes we do ... but we're taking another year off the schmooze clusterfuck that is WMC this year. Seriously Qoöl is way more fun. The Qoöl LA guys came up last week and rocked it ... check out the pictures here (JohnKane.com). Fuck Miami Beach, muscle-head fucktards, fake tits, and $15 drinks ... we're partying like rock stars in San Francisco and we're keeping it real. ;-)

OK while I'm on my Miami rant, one more thing. I wouldn't mind going if anyone wanted to actually do business there. But I get way more business stuff done when I go to LA. I just wonder how Los Angeles will do with global warming and all that ... that city is going to need to do some serious water-recycling. Or switch to drinking vodka (and watering their lawns with vodka for that matter).
